LumaTV Cast Privacy Policy
Scope
This policy applies to the Google Play edition of LumaTV Cast for Android TV. LumaTV Cast is a local-network DLNA receiver and playback controller. It does not require an account and does not operate a developer-owned cloud service.
Information processed on the TV
LumaTV Cast stores the device name, selected theme, language, playback preferences, connection code, and optional proxy host and port in the app’s private storage. This information is used to provide app features and is not uploaded to a server operated by the developer.
Local-network communication
LumaTV Cast advertises a DLNA receiver on the current local network. Casting devices may send media URLs, metadata, playback commands, and volume commands to the TV. The local web console is available only on the same network and requires the connection code shown on the TV. Console sessions expire and are protected against cross-site requests.
Media and proxy connections
When you cast or enter an online media URL, the TV connects to that media provider. If you enable playback proxy, internet media requests use the proxy address you provide; local-network media remains direct. Media-server and proxy operators may process connection information under their own policies.
Google Play Billing
The Play edition uses Google Play Billing for the optional LumaTV Pro Lifetime purchase. Google processes payment information. LumaTV Cast receives the product identifier, purchase state, purchase token, and acknowledgement result needed to unlock and restore the purchase.
Permissions
The Play edition uses internet, network-state, Wi-Fi-state, and Wi-Fi multicast permissions for DLNA discovery, local console access, and media playback. It does not request location, nearby-device, notification, overlay, or unknown-app installation permissions.
Sharing, sale, retention, and deletion
LumaTV Cast does not sell personal information and does not share personal information with a developer-operated server. Local settings remain until you clear app data or uninstall LumaTV Cast. Connection codes and console sessions are replaced or expire. LumaTV Cast has no user accounts and therefore holds no server-side account data to delete.
Security
LumaTV Cast limits its console to the current IPv4 local network, requires a six-digit connection code, rate-limits failed pairing attempts, expires authenticated sessions, validates requests, and does not expose the console through a developer cloud service. Use a trusted home or office network.
Children
LumaTV Cast is not designed for children and does not knowingly collect children’s personal information.
Changes and contact
Material changes will be reflected by updating this page and its effective date. Privacy questions can be sent to the developer by email.
